ニュージーランドより新しく仲間入りするワイン「クリフォード・ベイ」が到着しました。
ニュージーランド最大のワイン産地マールボロは二つのエリアに分けられています。一つは「ワイラウ・リバー地区」これまでマールボロと言えばといった主たるエリアでワイナリーも90％近くがこちらに構えています。山間を走りクラウディ・ベイ（湾）まで注ぐワイラウ川がこのエリアの名前であり東西に広がる広大な産地。
また、「アワテレ・ヴァレー」と呼ばれるワイラウの南に位置するエリアはやはり地元の川より名づけられ、幾分標高も高く山合いの為ワイラウより冷涼ではっきりした特徴のあるぶどうを生み出します。このアワテレ川が注ぐ湾を「クリフォード・ベイ」と言います。
「クリフォード・ベイ」はソービニヨンブランとピノグリを揃え特徴あるワインに仕上げられていますし、お財布にも優しい価格となっています。
